  1. Dear SoundEagle and members of the society,

We are completely speechless! How far technology has come! And what SoundEagle has done for the Queensland Begonia Society website is simply marvellous and far-reaching! Do keep up the good work!

We are very glad to be able to see the dedication and expertise of so many begonia growers here on the website. We shall pay more attention to the potential and diversity of begonias from now on, and consider growing more of them.

Happy autumn and winter to all of you and your beautiful plants!

    • Hi Deborah! A Strawberry Begonia is not a Begonia at all, but a perennial flowering plant known by several common names, including creeping saxifrage, strawberry saxifrage, creeping rockfoil, as well as the quite ambiguous “Aaron’s beard”, mother of thousands, roving sailor, wandering Jew, and strawberry begonia or strawberry geranium. Its scientific name is Saxifraga stolonifera.

Please be informed that our 2019 Annual Show of Begonias: 🍃Bold & Beautiful🎨 will be held this Saturday, as publicized in the new post.

If you do grow begonias, may all of them thrive to your satisfaction in 2019!
